Our Review

The Avinyo hotel is a modern property in a funky designer kind of way. It has one of the best city centre, Gothic Quarter and Ramblas locations. Being a new hotel (summer 2007) we feel the jury is still out and reviews are mixed. That said, it does sometimes represent great value when it offers low rates.

Though a brand new property, finished in Summer 2007, the Avinyo Hotel none the less retains the traditional spirit of the old town area, being built on the site of Roman ruins. Spacious and decorated in cool white tones, the lobby offers a generous seating area. Also featuring contemporary white décor, the 83 guestrooms are stylish yet functional. They are clean and well maintained, as are the en suite bathrooms. Family rooms available, but some single rooms do not have windows. The hotel offers a Continental buffet every morning in its welcoming breakfast room.

     breakfast was excellent....             Ideal place to stay...             This is a new hotel, opened Summer 07. It is a very modern, funky hotel, but is still overcoming some teething problems....             Hotel was more like modern apartments rather than a Hotel...             Nice modern interior...             Good hotel considering it's only rated a 3* and i was the previous week in a 4* much worse....             excellent breakfast buffet (hot, cold, and pastries). ...             Not very good value for money...             Breakfast very poor...             The style is a bit too modern for the area, its a shame the building was painted bright orange...             Clean and comfortable hotel....             Breakfast in basement a bit crowded but fresh fruit & rolls were good - keep away from the scrambled egg!...
