port vell has super eateries. the rambla is a must for sitting eating drinking and watching the world go by. The Aquarium is a must see. The tourist buses are great but get the right one.. not the one which requires you to change from Red to blue to get to the Neu Camp . The cathedral was shrouded in scaffolding- a major disappointment.

Air conditioning temperature controller did not work, we had to ask reception to adjust temperature remotely-this led to an uncomfortable nights sleep.Shower head clamp not working and would not hold position-poor for a 5 star hotel.Toilet paper not replenished during our stay-shouldnt have to ask for this to happen.Booked a room with a sea view but was offered rooms looking back at the city.

This hotel forms part of the world trade centre and is intergrated with a docking point for the ferries-this leads to noise at night as the ferries load with lorries and cars which pass the front of the hotel entrance each evening from about 8-12 midnight. Consider 3 or 4 star hotels in the Ramblas as they are closer to the more interesting areas.Avoid thieves and children with clipboards asking for charitable donations and your home address-2 weeks later you are contacted by mail to tell you you have won the spanish lottery and all you have to do is send your bank details! be on your guard Barca is a fantastic and friendly place but keep your common sense with you.Use the tour buses-and spot out all the places that deserve a visit in this city that has so much to see.You will not be dissapointed.Food and wine excellent in all the places we ate.

The Hotel was excellent apart from being really expensive for food and drinks. While you expect to pay for the service etc, I felt that 8 euros for a samll beer and 17 euros for a hamburger were over the top. they had no kettle in the room so if you wanted a coffee then you had to pay 5 suros for room service. Apart from that the hotel was superb, clean and friendly.

temperature control in room was either too cool or too hot, difficult to find the right balance - maybe it was just us??

Top Tip

Bus Tour of Barcelona takes a long time - nearly 3 hours!! without getting off. We recommend you get a map, pick the key things to see and walk or taxi it.The Aquarium was a bit of a rip off. Its a GREAT CITY - will definately return!

The service and attention from staff was excellent, my only comment would be that drinks in the hotel bar were on the expensive side. We had a very enjoyable evening in the restaurant located beside the shopping centre.

Great Hotel, Ideal Waterfront Location with a lot of tranquility and still within walking distances of the Marina, Ramblas, Shopping and the nightlife. Great service. Told them we were vegetarians and they made us food not on menu.

Top Tip

Use the Barcelona Tourist bus to view all the sites. Park Guiell is a must!
